The ZAP Alias was conceived in 2006, so we’ve been working on this for a couple of years.  On the way to where it is now, ZAP hired a group of designers from Ohio to engineer the first few models.  In 2008, Chuck, Brandon, and Dave were involved in building this ZAP Alias model using a special kind of paint from JDS Uniphase’s Flex Products Group  that is actually located in Santa Rosa, California (our home town).  This special pigmented paint, called SpectraFlair Pigment Technology (Video: 6.4 MB .WMV), changes colors in various shades of light.
